Slightly Off 5K a Run-away Hit!
FIRST SLIGHTLY OFF 5K PROGRAM A RUN-AWAY HIT!
It all began with a conference call back in January and finished with a 5K run at Wrigley Field in Chicago on April 25th. Daily inspiration and information by e-mail, a variety of teleconferences, by experts and 5K runners, rounded out the 3 ½ month program. Although many runners met individual work-out goals, Cathy Reichl of Palatine, IL was the true Slightly Off 5K winner. She claims the program took her from the couch (which I cannot personally attest to) to the finish line in front of Wrigley Field (I can attest to this one – see photo!). Cathy and I crossed the finish line together. And since then, she has finished another 5K and even shaved minutes off her time! Cathy writes: “Deb is a fantastic organizer, motivator, encourager, support system, and source of information, all wrapped up in one! THANK YOU for turning me into a 5K runner!!!! I will be forever grateful!
”
Special thanks to all of those who informed and inspired – Marathon runner and trainer, Jerry Vondruska www.glenellynrunners.org, Life Coach, Marla Tabaka www.marlatabaka.com, Marathon runner Steve Lutz www.Onyerleft.com, Author and marathoner, Marlin Keesler www.ourlifeontherun.com, and fellow runners, Becky and Joan Graziano, Mary Kay and Keri Harvey and Jemima Lipari.
